Aaron Kelly will receive the Arpeggio Award Sunday at the annual Celebration of Children event at The Forum, 555 Walnut St. in Harrisburg. Aaron, 17, of Sonestown, Sullivan County, was the youngest contestant to reach the top five during ninth season of "American Idol."
Afterward, he participated in the American Idol national tour and appeared on "The Ellen Degeneres Show," "The Late Show with David Letterman" and "Access Hollywood." He is now signed to a record label and will be touring the country.
The 14th Annual Celebration of Children starts at 3 p.m. The event showcases talented youth from the area. The theme for this year's event is "Emotions." Aaron will sign autographs during the event.
Tickets are $12 for adults and $10 for children. The event is free for those younger than 4. Tickets will be available at the door.
The Arpeggio Award was created in 2004 to recognize a celebrity who helps youth through use of the arts. Previous recipients include actor Charles S. Dutton, singer/songwriter Steven Courtney, author Michelle White and composer Woody Wolfe.
